It Started Like This:

A few random starry flakes that I took a picture of the night before last. When I woke up today, it was like this:

Welcome to the Donner Party!

It's really not that bad. I've seen much worse, but the roads are really bad and people are being asked not to go out unless it's an emergency situation. (Does being out of Coca-Cola count?)
It also means no work today for Jeremy. Since my work is at home, "snow day" isn't so much vacation as it is incarceration. I jest. It is nice to have day we can all stay in and not have to worry about making the two-hour commute in ice and snow. I'm making some hummus and baking soft pretzels later, and we have some delicious Munchies brand snack treats to tide us over in case we get the freezing rain that is forecasted. (If it ges really bad, we're drawing straws to see whose toes are going to be lunch. Mmmm, Free-toes!)

Here's something fun for you to do, if you are stuck inside due to snow and ice. (Or if you're just really bored, and maybe an agoraphobic.) I found it on this blog.

Mine was:

"May you always be as vivid as your hallucinations."
Trust me, I try. I really do.

That baby is adorable in your Masthead. But is she at all disturbed by the giant big bird behind her as I am? I'm just saying...

Nah, he doesn't bother her. That's the Mothman. He's our town mascot. (We suspect that he might also camp in our attic on cold nights, but we haven't caught him yet.)

We've had a lovely snow day here too. Luckily, I stopped by the grocery after I picked up my oldest from school. The Evil Twin decided to not risk getting off our hill either, so we've been napping and snacking and just lounging! It's nice to get some help with the kids! :-)

That star picture is gorgeous. I would like to be stuck indoors eating soft pretzels, hummus and blogging. Sounds like heaven to me. Stay warm Mary!
