Febrile, Weary, Skunky

Apologies in advance for the continuation of my Charlie Brown blogging shtick. I don't know when my blog became the unending list of "WTF!?" anecdotes, but there it is. Here are some highlights from the past few days, in bullet format no less:

  • Monday, 6:00 am. Violet snuggles up to me in her sleep and I can feel that her skin is practically on fire. I take her temperature to find it at nearly 103 degrees. It hasn't gone below 99.9 since then despite round the clock alternating doses of Tylenol and Motrin and lukewarm baths. Two doctor visits later we still only have the vague idea that it is viral and will hopefully be gone soon.

  • To add to the poor child's misery she is also simultaneously cutting SIX new teeth. Originally I thought this could be the reason for the fever, but blood tests indicate otherwise. Also cutting teeth shouldn't cause a fever of over 101, according to the doctors we saw.

  • A few days ago I (allegedly) forgot to close the door that leads from the garage to our den for an unknown period of time. Unbeknownst to us the friendly neighborhhod skunk came on in and hid away, only coming out to rummage through the trash while we slept. Luckily we keep the den door closed so he did not have access to the rest of the house. He stayed in the den overnight and the entire next day. I was the lucky one who opened the den door that next night to see his fluffy ass pointed right at me. Yes. I was face to ass with a skunk, only a foot away from me. I screamed "WILD ANIMAL!" and slammed the door shut, scaring Violet and her friend that was visiting half to death. Jeremy finally got him out by using our obsolete projection screen TV as a shield and a broom to scoot the skunk out. Luckily no one was sprayed during this adventure. Jeremy is now known as 'The Skunk Whisperer' in these parts.
So how was your week, Bloggers?

I hope Boopy (or is it with an "ie"?) is feeling better. I've got tonsilitis in my left tonsil, and I am not too happy about it. Hopefully the girls and I didn't bring a bug with us to your house. :( When I took the girls to the doctor they couldn't find anything wrong though. The girls seemed to feel much better after flirting with the new young doctor we saw at the office though. Hmmm...
If you want to see something bizarre, well maybe just more gross, do a search for "tonsil stones". I have these a lot, and on my tonsil that is infected I have tons of them. I got some of them out, but my throat is so sore I figured I'd better leave well enough alone. Blech!

Get The Skunk Whisperer some of them flapjacks. Let em harden up real good for a few days, and fly em frizee style at ole skunk. Works around here. Save the projection screen TV for the larger varmints.

Baby teeth? Are jerks. I have recently come to this conclusion, but I'm pretty sure it's accurate.
