Patron Saint of Velvet Elvis

There are few things I love more in life than utter tackiness. Tacky Americana, especially. Even more so when it is made in China. So, I was delighted one night to accidentally to stumble across a website called Mr. Kitschy.

They have all the classics such as fake pet vomit, Sea Monkeys, and dribble glasses. You know, all the cool stuff that used to be advertised in the back pages of comics. They also have lots of other weird things. It's great. Here are a few of my favorites:

Tofu Versus Bacon Bendies! (Bacon is slippery but tofu has the edge. These sum up mine & Jeremy's relationship perfectly. Bacon versus tofu. A daily battle.)

This awesome wind-up robot!

After The Rapture Mints, "For those of us who aren't going anywhere."

Cyndi Lauper trading cards! Enough said!

They also have bacon bandages, inflatable toast, and action figures of Edgar Allen Poe, Beethoven, Jesus and Oscar Wilde.
I'm in Velvet Graceland (which is "heaven" for other people.)

I saw some mints like that the other day at a local bookstore that is moving its location. They were selling off a lot of stuff real cheap and I almost bought them. But they said they were Made in China and I'm kind of funny that way when it comes to buying certain items. It was pretty funny though. There were two or three different kinds. Divorce, Religion and something else.

Q- I know. They are too funny.

Beaux- I agree- I wouldn't eat the mints, but the case is cool.

Maggie May- I will have that robot!

Hot Belly Mama- Cyndi trading cards are boss! Haha. I wouldn't eat the gum though. It's almost as old as I am.

We love that kind of thing. My husband probably has that robot - he has a huge collection of the tin litho robots. I don't even know how many are there and which ones....
