Finding THIS in your basement, thereby confirming stories that you thought were only told in jest. Yes, my baby's daddy was (is?) a Rick Astley fan! I guess he really did perform "Never Gonna Give You Up" at his school talent show like he said. In his defense, it was in grade school (or so he claims). Knowing that he only listens to metal now, mainly death metal at that, makes it even funnier. The only thing more priceless than this is seeing his face when he reads my blog and finds that I told the whole Interstate about it. I can't wait!
Now, what's better than a Rick Roll? Just about anything! And this, too: I also found this sweet '70s bathing suit for a little girl. Never used, still has original tags. It says size 4T, but it looks awfully small, even for Violet. We'll see.
And Violet found two mismatched clip-on earrings that somehow complement her blue shirt. (See that look? It's called Blue Steel.)
And even niftier still, I found an old apron, also unused with the tags still on. Seen below, modeled by my chair. I imagine some Donna Reed-type would've sported this on Halloween. (You know, while she was locked away in the kitchen making drinks and dinner her husband and all his friends that he invited over at last minute, and taking care of the kids while she did it.)
I could have a whole separate blog devoted to the weird finds of our enormous basement. It is that huge and cluttered. Some even speculate that the Mothman spends summers there, but I haven't seen him yet. Here are some other posts featuring basement treasures. Enjoy!
