A Poem for Violet, Created at Five A.M.

This co-sleeping has me weeping.
You lie there,
like the winning move
on Connect Four,
but your diagonal sleeping
is pushing me to the floor;
That is okay,
That is where my pillow lies now anyway.

Oh, yeah. I am sleeping on the couch. STILL.

Oh man, I'm sorry. If it makes you feel better we've resorted to Ozzy and Harriet-style measures of separate beds, and I get to keep Violet with me. No single bed here is big enough for Violet to sprawl out on, much less with her Dad sprawling out as well.
You know, sleeping alone on a couch sounds welcoming at this point!

Yep I understand this little ditty totally. The hubster and I fell 'honoured' that our 3 kitties share THEIR bed with us each night!

Oh man I can totally relate. Did it with both kittens. Those kicks to the head are great. We just do musical beds now just to get through the next year or so...
