I have mentioned here before my fear of whales, especially killer whales. I don't mind them out in the ocean. I just don't want to go to Sea World any time soon. I imagine them lurking in waters that I can't see the bottom of, like lakes and big pools. I know, rationally, that this silly but I have been known to leap- screaming, from a pool after imagining that I felt the cool skin of Shamu brush against my leg.
My other fear is more like an anxiety that has grown over time: flying in airplanes. It wasn't so bad back in the days of my youth when mimosas and peanuts were still handed out freely, and I could manage to go first class. Besides all the horrible things involving planes that have transpired since those carefree days, another major contributor to this fear is LOST. Yes, the television show. I do not wish to be stuck on that island, no matter how cool John Locke is.
Well, I have found something so disturbing to me, thanks to Google images, that I will say no more about it. Just LOOK at it! A mechanical beast wrought from my nightmares and engineered to reality. If a real plane were to ever land on the LOST island, it would be this beast!

THE SHAMU PLANE!
If for some sick reason I ever had to book a flight on this thing... well, I just hope that Locke is on my flight, too. And I do hope they are serving some mimosas (or brandy, or horse tranquilizers).
