The Sarah Palin Abstinence Program

John McCain's Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin announced that her 17 year old daughter (unmarried! Oh, the horror!) is pregnant. If she cannot prevent her own daughter from becoming pregnant how can she seriously stand behind her "abstinence is the only way" idea and actually defend the position of no sexual education or birth control in schools?

How is she still defending this stance when it so clearly did not work for her family? She still wants to to impose it on others. I think the parents should be responsible in explaining all this to their kids, but seriously you know that plenty do not bother at all. The resources should be available for the teenagers who have uninvolved (or in denial) parents. Especially a 17 year old.

Also, did she name her kids from a mixture of Charmed and Buffy characters and the cut-up technique, or what? Look:
